This is a nocturnal hunting bird. The City Watch negotiated with Johanna Smith-Rhodes in her role as manager of the Animal Management Unit for Buggy Swires to buy an almost-incubated egg. Swires then raised the chick, in the usual Feegle manner, to enable the Watch Air Police to have a night-flying capacity. As the bird was from .Howandaland, had a red plumage and a short temper and was deadly if she had a reason to come after you by night, he called her Johanna. Miss Smith-Rhodes eventually saw this as a compliment.
